Joshua has received the Central Coast Region District Award with a score of 33/35 and Brandon finished in second place overall with a score of 32/35.
The Newcastle Permanent Maths Competition is an annual Mathematics contest open to students in Years 5 and 6 who demonstrate high ability, and a strong penchant for Mathematics.

The competition is extremely challenging and asks students to think laterally, apply ‘clever’ and efficient techniques to solve problems quickly and to apply a thought process rather than a rote learned procedure.
This year was the 35th Annual competition and over 18,000 students from 311 schools from the Hunter, Northern and Western regions participated.
“Our results overall this year were extremely pleasing,” said Head of Junior School, Mrs Linda Webb. “We have a history of great success in this competition and again CCGS students have excelled.”
