The School Opal card gives eligible students free or discounted travel between home and school using the train, bus, ferry and light rail services you nominate in your application. To make a new application or for more information call 131500 or visit

Missed Bus

When a child misses a bus they are automatically sent to reception and the child's Mother or Father will be contacted.

Late Bus

The main reception should be informed if a bus is running late.


Parents should contact the Bus Company, directly, to lodge complaints about late buses.

Carpark procedures

The three major zones are the PAC (Performing Arts Centre) carpark, the top carpark and the RLC (Richard Lornie Centre) carparks. Details of how these three zones are to be used are as follows:

  • PAC Carpark
    Parking for staff and students during the day, and also casual parking for parents
    No buses
    No drop-off and pick-up
  • Top Carpark
    Drop-off and pick-up only
    No buses
    No staff parking
    No student parking
    Parent parking only with the express approval of the Headmaster on special occasions.
  • RLC Carpark
    All buses will use this carpark area
    No drop-off and pick-up
    No casual parking
    No parent parking
    Approved staff parking only

Code of Conduct for private buses/private ferry services

To ensure your safety and the comfort of other passengers, Students will:

  • Behave safely at all times
  • Respect the needs and comfort of other passengers
  • Behave appropriately at all times (e.g. No use of offensive language, fighting, spitting, placing feet on seats or throwing things in or from the bus)
  • Protect bus property and report any vandalism
  • Show their travel passes or tickets to the driver on boarding and when requested
  • Only use the travel pass for its intended purpose
  • Maintain possession of the travel pass at all times
  • Follow the driver's instructions about safety on the bus (e.g. Instructions on where to sit)
  • Adhere to the law that bans smoking on buses
  • Only eat or drink (other than water) on the bus with the written permission of the bus operator
  • Keep arms, legs and other parts of their bodies inside the bus
  • Only attract the attention of the driver in the case of an emergency

Code of Conduct for rail/rural coach services

To ensure the safety and the comfort of other passengers, Students will:

  • Behave safely at all times
  • Respect the needs and comfort of other passengers
  • Respect public property by not marking or damaging it
  • Always follow instruction about safety
  • Show their pass or ticket as required
  • Commence and finish journeys only at Stations shown on their pass
  • Travel only between those Stations

Students will not:

  • Smoke in prohibited areas
  • Allow any part of their body to protrude from the train
  • Fight, spit, use offensive language or place their feet on the seats
  • Throw any article inside, or out of, the train
  • Alter, deface, misuse or fraudulently obtain a rail pass
  • Occupy seats while adults are required to stand
  • Give, lend or transfer their rail pass to another person
