Each Year, our Performing Arts Centre is packed to capacity for a variety of performances including our Junior and Senior drama or musical productions. Actors, singers, dancers, musicians, technical crew and staff all work together to create a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Junior School Performing Arts (JSPA)

Open to all students in Year 6.  Annual major Junior School Production. 

Students hone their talents in a variety of performing arts such as acting, singing and movement.  Recent Junior productions include Aladdin, Mary Boppins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan.
Rehearsals start Term 1 after school on Tuesdays.  Annual performance Term 3.

After School Drama Lessons for Years 1 & 2/ Years 3 & 4/ Years 5 & 6

Weekly Drama lessons work on developing clear articulation, voice projection and eye contact in a fun and safe environment.  Stories are a springboard for characterisation and performance.  Along their creative journey students improve their comprehension, vocabulary and fluency of reading and learn an array of entertaining poems and the fundamentals of improvisation. 

Years 1 and 2 meets Wednesday after school, 3.00- 4.00pm in F3 (Kindergarten classroom).  Tuition fees are billed to the school account.

Years 3 and 4 meet on Thursdays (Semester Two) after school, 3.10 – 4.10pm in F3 (Kindergarten classroom).  Tuition fees are billed to the school account.

Years 5 and 6 meet on Thursdays (Semester One) after school, 3.10 – 4.10pm in F3 (Kindergarten classroom).  Tuition fees are billed to the school account.

Year 7 Drama Group

Open to all Year 7 students.  Drama activities leading to performance at EDEN II, Term 4.  Cast selected for EDEN II performance following Term 3 activities.  Rehearsals led by the Drama Captain.

Meets Tuesday lunchtime during Term 3 and Term 4

EDEN (Elective Drama Entertainment Night)

Participants must be studying elective Drama in Years 9 – 12. Students from other years may also be invited to perform.

Groups provide a very entertaining night, with some very bizarre and creative pieces. For Year 12 students, it is their first opportunity to showcase their HSC Drama pieces.

Evening performance Term 2

Participants must be studying elective Drama in Years 9 & 10.  Students from year 7 Drama Group also perform. 

All students studying Drama come together for their final performances of the year. For many students, it is the last ever in School, for others, it is yet another night on the fun and interesting road which will continue well into the future.

Evening performance Term 4

Senior Production 

Open to students from Year 7 to Year 11.  Students are selected by audition.

Annual major Production.  With cast and crew there are a wide range of opportunities for students to play a part in creating very successful performances.  Senior students have presented Pygmalion, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Pride and Prejudice and Guys and Dolls.

Rehearsals start Term 1.  Annual Performance Term 3

Shakespeare Festival

Drama students from Years 10 and 11 are required to enter but any students from Years 8-11 are welcome to enter.

Competition at CCGS, leading to qualification for regional competition.  Categories include; monologue, duologue, groups scene, costume design and set design.

CCGS Festival takes place in Term 1, Regional Festival in Term 2, State Festival in Term 3.
